Lisa Huff is Principal Analyst at Discerning Analytics. She is a Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) and degreed electrical engineer with almost 30 years experience in the data center and electronics industries. In addition to being Principal Analyst at DA, she is Chief Technology Analyst for DataCenterStocks.com and Telecom Director for Bishop & Associates, Inc. Her experience includes running a small computer room as part of her responsibilities as Nexans’ Data Communications Competence Center Advanced Development and Applications Group, which then led to a position as Data Center Marketing Applications Engineer and Business Manager. She has also held various industry analyst, marketing and engineering positions at Communications Industry Researchers, FCI and TE Connectivity. Her expertise is in data centers, data communications cabling and connectivity, networking equipment and optical components. Lisa writes a blog – Optical Components – and has presented at many industry conferences including 7x24 Exchange International, Data Center World, ECOC, OFC, Transport Networks for Mobile Operators and WDM and Next Generation Optical Networking. She also teaches an annual OFC short course, Data Center Cabling: Transitioning from Copper to Fiber (SC358). Lisa has produced more than 30 publications. T. Parker Vollmer is Vice President, Selection Services. Parker has more than 20 years experience in the IT and Real Estate industries. She began her career as a freelancer, writing raw HTML, CSS, Java®, ColdFusion®, Perl and front end dynamic programs such as Dreamweaver and eventually, Flash®. While freelancing, Corporate Creative, an award winning design firm and former client, hired Parker to head a new sister company, Luminar Studios, with a thrust into Web development. She oversaw the development of sites from international corporations to white-shoe law firms and innovation start-ups. Within two months, Luminar Studios maintained an 18-month backlog on their production schedule and was profitable within 7 months. In 2005, Parker moved into commercial real estate with emphasis on investments and land development. Investment deals have included large retail spaces, multiuse facilities, mixed-use development and land. Parker’s experience includes the entire entitlement process, from engineering, re-zonings to, at times, solving complicated infrastructure and environmental issues. Eventually, Parker transitioned into the data center sector, expanded into data center colocation and site selection where she remains today.
